You may have noticed our logo is pink. No, we're not rebranding – October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Building Solutions family is coming together to help raise awareness, encourage continued research and honor those who have won and lost their battles with this disease.
Employees at the company. office in Atlanta, GA, showed their support October 3-7 by holding an overall awareness campaign. Everyone was encouraged to show their pink pride by wearing pink all week long. They held a reception at the end of the week and honored two courageous employees who are breast cancer survivors.
At the Oldcastle Infrastructure facility – a CRH company – in Mansfield, TX, the team hosted an event on Friday, October 7. They hosted a lunch and furnished pink ribbons. Special guest, Ashley Shoults, came and spoke about her own cancer journey, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She successfully emerged from surgery and treatment over a year ago and today is cancer-free.
Ashley reinforced the importance of regular exams, taking ownership for your own health by knowing the symptoms, risks and following up with your doctor when there are unanswered questions.
