In October 2019, the Housing Market Index (HMI) was at 71 with increased performance in the current, future and traffic components of the index.

The annualized value of Construction Put-in-Place was $1.29T in September 2019, 2.0% below its year-ago activity.

In September 2019, housing permits reflected an annual rate of 1.39M, a 7.7% increase from their year-ago rate with increases in both Single-family and Multi-family permits.

Housing starts in September 2019 were 1.6% above their year-ago rate with 1.26M starts, with an increase in Single-family starts.

The ABI slightly fell below 50 (neutral) in September 2019 to 49.7 points, with the South region and the Residential sector in the lead.

The advance estimate of real GDP growth for Q3 2019 was 1.9%, a 0.1% decrease from the previous quarter's estimate of 2.0%.

The Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA) projected annual spending for home improvements and repairs to grow 4.6% in Q4 2019, reaching $327B.
